About this kit
The Zvezda 1/35 Soviet Airborne Fighting Vehicle BMD-1 (Z3559) is a plastic model kit of the light, amphibious tracked vehicle designed to be air transported and parachuted with Soviet airborne troops. It packs a 73 mm gun, an AT-3 anti tank missile launcher and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun into a remarkably low hull.
Displayed with paratrooper figures it makes a compact Cold War airborne scene, and the low hull looks excellent with dusty Afghan style weathering or a clean parade finish. Its small footprint also suits shelves where space is tight.
