XF-53 Neutral Grey is part of Tamiya's XF range of flat acrylic mini paints, matching the Neutral Grey used on the undersides of USAAF aircraft from 1941–44. Applied beneath Olive Drab upper surfaces, Neutral Grey was the standard lower surface colour for P-51s, P-47s, B-17s, and virtually every other USAAF combat aircraft in the European and Pacific theatres — one of the most important US aviation colours of WWII.
