The Tamiya Sanding Sponge Sheet 3000 (87171) is a flexible foam-backed sanding sheet in extremely fine 3000 grit — the final sanding grade before polishing compound. At this ultra-fine grit, the sanding sponge removes fine scratches left by 2000 grit work, preparing the surface for the polishing compound stage to achieve a gloss finish on painted and clear plastic surfaces.
