LP-23 Flat Clear is a matte clear lacquer from Tamiya's LP range — applied as a final protective coat over a completed model to seal the paintwork in a flat, non-reflective finish. The flat clear is the most widely used final coat in military and aircraft modelling, where scale realism demands a matte appearance rather than gloss. It also protects decals and weathering from damage.
