The Tamiya Sanding Cloth 1000# (87232) is a flexible cloth-backed abrasive sheet in 1000 grit for fine surface finishing and pre-polish preparation on scale models. The cloth backing is more flexible and durable than paper-backed equivalents, conforming to curved surfaces without tearing and lasting considerably longer in use. P1000 is an excellent grit for initial cut-back of gloss clear coats before progressing to finer polishing grades.
