The foam sponge backing allows the abrasive surface to follow curves, contours, and compound curves on model parts far better than rigid-backed sanding sticks — ideal for fine finishing on car body panels, aircraft fuselages, and other curved surfaces. At P1000 it is suited to fine pre-paint surface preparation and initial clear coat cut-back.
