The Tamiya 1/350 Japanese Destroyer Kagero (78032) reproduces the lead ship of the Kagero class — arguably the best destroyer class fielded by any nation in the early years of the Pacific War. The Kagero-class destroyers combined powerful armament (eight 610mm torpedo tubes and six 12.7cm guns), high speed, and long range in a capable and well-balanced design. Kagero herself served throughout the early Pacific campaigns before being sunk by US mines in the Solomon Islands in 1943.
