The Tamiya 1/350 Japanese Battleship Yamato (78025) reproduces the largest and most powerful battleship ever built — the IJN Yamato whose 46cm main guns were the biggest naval guns ever put to sea on a warship. Completed in December 1941, the Yamato displaced 72,800 tons at full load and carried nine 46cm guns in three triple turrets capable of hurling 1.5-ton shells over 42km. She met her end in April 1945, sunk by US carrier aircraft on a one-way mission to Okinawa with fuel only for the outward voyage.
