The Tamiya 1/350 Japanese Heavy Cruiser Mogami (78023) reproduces one of the most versatile and interesting of all IJN cruiser designs — the Mogami in her final configuration as an aviation cruiser with the aft turrets replaced by a large seaplane deck and hangar. Originally built as light cruisers to circumvent the Washington Treaty limits, the Mogami-class was subsequently re-armed with 8-inch guns as heavy cruisers, and Mogami herself was later converted to an aviation cruiser capable of carrying 11 seaplanes.
