The Tamiya 1/700 German Battle Cruiser Gneisenau (77520) reproduces the Scharnhorst's sister ship — the Gneisenau that fought alongside Scharnhorst throughout their careers, the two often referred to collectively as 'the twins' by German propaganda and the Royal Navy alike. Gneisenau participated in the Norwegian campaign, Atlantic commerce raiding, and the famous Channel Dash of February 1942 when both ships sprinted through the English Channel from Brest to German ports under the noses of the Royal Navy and RAF.
