The Tamiya 1/48 Mitsubishi A6M5/5A Zero (Zeke) (61103) reproduces the A6M5 — the most produced and arguably the most refined Zero variant, designed to counter the improved Allied fighters that were increasingly outmatching earlier Zeros over the Pacific. The A6M5 featured a thicker wing skin for higher diving speed limits, individual exhaust stacks for thrust augmentation, and improved armament in the A6M5a sub-variant. It remained the primary Zero in service through to the war's end.
