The Tamiya 1/48 North American F-51D Mustang Korean War (61044) reproduces the legendary Mustang in its Korean War guise — redesignated F-51D in USAF service when the jet age arrived, but pressed back into frontline combat in Korea where its range and bomb load made it invaluable for close air support and interdiction missions. Far from retirement, the F-51D proved its worth against North Korean supply lines and troop concentrations, flying dangerous low-level missions where jet aircraft struggled.
