Tamiya 1/48 Aircraft - Focke-Wulf Fw190 D-9 - 61041

The Tamiya 1/48 Focke-Wulf Fw190 D-9 (61041) reproduces the 'Dora' — the long-nose Fw190 variant that restored German fighter performance parity with Allied aircraft in late 1944. Powered by the Junkers Jumo 213A inline engine in place of the original BMW 801 radial, the D-9 delivered substantially better high-altitude performance than earlier Fw190s. It was initially tasked with protecting Me 262 jet airfields during takeoff and landing — the time when the revolutionary jets were most vulnerable.

Tamiya's 1/48 kit captures the D-9's distinctive long engine cowling, annular radiator, and late-war camouflage options with outstanding accuracy.
