The Tamiya 1/35 German Tank Destroyer Marder I (35370) reproduces one of the improvised but effective German tank destroyers of the early Eastern Front campaigns — the Marder I, which mounted the captured Soviet 76.2mm Pak 36(r) anti-tank gun on the chassis of captured French Lorraine tractors. Despite its improvised origins, the Marder I proved a capable and mobile tank destroyer, providing German Panzerjäger units with a much-needed long-range anti-tank capability in 1942-43.
