The Tamiya 1/35 German Panther Ausf.D (35345) reproduces the original production variant of what many consider the finest tank design of the Second World War. The Panther Ausf.D, introduced in early 1943 and rushed into combat at Kursk in July of that year, combined a powerful 75mm KwK42 L/70 gun, well-sloped armour, and excellent mobility in a package that outgunned and out-protected anything the Allies had in service. Despite mechanical teething troubles at Kursk, the Panther became one of the most respected tanks of the conflict.
