About this kit
After the 1967 Six Day War the Israeli Defence Force captured Soviet T55 tanks and modified them extensively into the Tiran 5. They gained upgraded 105mm guns, mounted M2 heavy machine guns and distinctive storage boxes for identification. The Tiran 5 proved its worth in the 1973 Yom Kippur War and stayed in service into the early 1980s.
The Tamiya 1/35 Israeli Tank Tiran 5 (35328) reproduces this distinctive profile, with the modified main armament, dual machine guns, turret mounted storage boxes, water tanks and auxiliary equipment.
