The M1A2 introduced the Commander's Independent Thermal Viewer, Position Navigation Equipment, and Inter-Vehicle Information System over the M1A1 — making it the most situationally aware MBT of its generation. In OIF it swept away Iraqi armoured resistance with near-impunity.
