The Tamiya 1/35 U.S. M113A2 Desert Version (35265) reproduces the M113A2 armoured personnel carrier in its desert combat configuration — as used during Operation Desert Storm in 1991. The M113 series served in an enormous variety of roles throughout the Cold War and beyond, and the Desert Storm deployment saw the A2 variant updated with improved engine, transmission, and NBC protection. In the desert scheme the M113 formed the backbone of allied mechanised infantry transport.
