The Tamiya 1/35 M4A3 Sherman 105mm Howitzer (35251) reproduces the close support variant of the Sherman that replaced the standard 75mm M3 gun with a 105mm M4 howitzer — trading anti-tank capability for greatly increased high-explosive and smoke round effect against infantry and fortifications. These 105mm Shermans served in armoured battalion headquarters companies and were an important component of US armoured tactics in the drive across France and Germany.

An unusual and interesting Sherman variant that stands out from the standard 75mm and 76mm models in any display.
