The Tamiya 1/35 German Marder III (35248) reproduces the improvised but highly effective tank destroyer that saw widespread German service on the Eastern Front and in North Africa. The Marder III mounted the captured Soviet 76.2mm gun (or later the German 7.5cm PaK 40) on the Panzer 38(t) chassis, creating an expedient but powerful tank destroyer solution that gave German anti-tank units a weapon capable of engaging T-34s effectively.
Tamiya's 1/35 kit captures the Marder III's open fighting compartment, tall silhouette, and characteristic Czechoslovak-origin running gear with fine detail. An important and interesting subject for Eastern Front modelling.
