The Tamiya 1/35 Panzer IV Ausf.J (Sd.Kfz.161/2) (35181) reproduces the final and most widely produced Panzer IV variant — the Ausf.J built from June 1944 to the end of the war. The J introduced numerous simplifications to ease wartime production: the elimination of the electric turret traverse motor in favour of a manual backup only, removal of auxiliary fuel tanks, and simplified track skirting arrangements. Despite these cutbacks, the Ausf.J remained a capable gun platform with its long 7.5cm KwK 40 L/48.
