The Tamiya 1/35 Russian T-72M1 Main Battle Tank (35160) reproduces the Cold War workhorse of the Soviet and Warsaw Pact armies — the T-72 in its M1 export configuration that was supplied widely to Middle Eastern and Third World clients. The T-72 combined a powerful 125mm smoothbore gun, effective armour, and automatic loader in a compact package, and it served as Iraq's primary armour during Desert Storm — where it met its match against the M1A1 Abrams and Challenger 1.
