The Tamiya 1/35 Israeli Merkava MBT (35127) reproduces Israel's uniquely designed main battle tank — the Merkava, which broke with conventional tank design by placing the engine at the front to maximise crew protection. Developed after the lessons of the Yom Kippur War in 1973, the Merkava (Chariot) entered service in 1979 and has been continuously upgraded ever since. Its distinctive angular turret, rear troop access hatch, and front-engine layout make it instantly recognisable.
