The Tamiya 1/48 Howitzer Motor Carriage M8 (32604) reproduces the compact American self-propelled 75mm howitzer — the M8 HMC built on the M5 Stuart light tank hull — in the detailed 1/48 scale. Designed to provide direct artillery support for fast-moving armoured and cavalry units, the M8 could keep pace with the tanks it supported and deliver howitzer fire far more rapidly than towed artillery. It saw service from North Africa and Italy through to the end of the war in Europe and the Pacific.
