The Tamiya 1/48 German Panther Ausf.D Tank (32597) reproduces the original production Panther in the compact 1/48 scale. The Ausf.D was the first Panther to enter combat at Kursk in July 1943, suffering numerous teething problems with its new drivetrain but demonstrating the formidable potential of the design. Despite early reliability issues, the Panther's firepower and protection were immediately recognised as superior to the T-34, and it went on to become arguably the finest medium tank of the war in later variants.
