The Churchill Crocodile was one of WWII's most terrifying weapons — the standard Churchill Mk.VII replaced its hull machine gun with a flame projector fed from a 1,800-litre armoured trailer towed behind. Used extensively in Normandy and the subsequent campaign, it was devastatingly effective against fortifications and proved to have significant psychological impact on enemy defenders.
