The Tamiya 1/48 U.S. M4A1 Sherman Tank (32523) reproduces the cast-hull variant of the M4 Sherman in the compact 1/48 scale. The M4A1 was distinguished from other Sherman variants by its fully cast hull — a smooth, rounded profile without the angular welded surfaces of the M4, M4A3, and others. This gave the M4A1 subtle ballistic advantages and made it the preferred variant for Lend-Lease recipients including the Free French, who used it throughout the Northwest Europe campaign.
