The Tamiya 1/48 Schwimmwagen Type 166 (32506) reproduces the amphibious Volkswagen-based staff car in the compact 1/48 scale. The Schwimmwagen was one of the most remarkable light vehicles of WWII — using its rear-mounted propeller to cross rivers, lakes, and marshes under its own power before driving out the other side. Over 14,000 were produced, making it the most widely manufactured amphibious car in history, and it served on the Eastern Front and in North Africa with equal capability.
