The Tamiya 1/48 Ki-61-Id Hien Silver Colour Plated with Camo Decals (25424) is a special edition of Tamiya's Ki-61-Id Hien kit featuring silver chrome-plated parts — creating a stunning metallic natural metal finish straight from the box. The silver plating mimics the bare-metal appearance of the Ki-61 fighters flown by Japanese home defence units in the final stages of the war, when camouflage was sometimes omitted in favour of speed of production.
Camouflage decals are included, allowing the model to be built with or without an applied camo scheme over the metallic base.
