The Tamiya 1/24 Porsche 911 GT1 (24186) reproduces one of the most dramatic road-homologation race cars ever created — the GT1 built specifically to compete in the GT1 class at Le Mans in 1996, 1997, and 1998. Porsche created a mid-engined, completely rethought 911 with a twin-turbocharged flat-six mounted ahead of the rear axle to meet homologation rules — a radical departure from everything the 911 had stood for. The effort was rewarded with an outright Le Mans victory in 1998.

Tamiya's 1/24 kit faithfully captures the GT1's dramatic low-slung prototype body with characteristic accuracy.
