About this kit
The Tamiya 1/35 Israeli Merkava MBT (35127) reproduces Israel's uniquely designed main battle tank — the Merkava, which broke with conventional tank design by placing the engine at the front to maximise crew protection. Developed after the lessons of the Yom Kippur War in 1973, the Merkava (Chariot) entered service in 1979 and has been continuously upgraded ever since. Its distinctive angular turret, rear troop access hatch, and front-engine layout make it instantly recognisable.
Tamiya's 1/35 kit faithfully captures the early Merkava's characteristic silhouette and detail — an important and unusual modern MBT subject for the 1/35 collection.
Kit highlights:
- Accurate 1/35 Merkava Mk.1 with 105mm M68 gun
- Distinctive front-engine layout for crew protection
- Characteristic chain skirt and rear ammunition compartment
- IDF marking options included
- An unusual and important modern tank design subject
Please note: Cement and paints required, sold separately.
