The Tamiya 1/35 German Panzerkampfwagen II (35009) reproduces Germany's principal light tank of the early war period — the diminutive Panzer II that bore the burden of the 1939 and 1940 campaigns alongside the even smaller Panzer I. Armed with a 20mm autocannon and co-axial MG, the Panzer II was never designed as a main battle tank but served in that role by necessity through the Polish, Norwegian, and French campaigns, and even into the early stages of Barbarossa.
