This re-release brings Tamiya's classic Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 kit up to date with fresh Cartograf decals, a revised instruction booklet and new packaging. The full-size Celica LB Turbo competed in the 1977 German Racing Championship (DRM) as a Group 5 machine, built from the road-going Celica Liftback but transformed with flared arches, a large rear wing and glass-fibre reinforced plastic body panels. Power came from a heavily reworked 2,090cc inline-four with a turbocharger producing around 560hp. After its debut in mid-1977, the car went on to defeat the dominant Porsche 935 that October for its first race win.
