The Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha RZV500R (14037) reproduces the road-legal Yamaha V4 two-stroke — the closest thing to a 500cc Grand Prix motorcycle that money could buy on the public road in 1984. The RZV500R used a 499cc V4 two-stroke engine based directly on the YZR500 Grand Prix racer's technology, producing around 88hp in an era when most superbikes were lucky to exceed 100hp from 1000cc four-strokes. It remains one of the most exotic and desirable Japanese motorcycles ever produced.
