The Gloster Meteor was the first jet aircraft to be mass produced in Great Britain and played a major role in the early development of jet powered aviation. The F.8 variant represented the most advanced version of the aircraft, featuring a more powerful engine, revised control surfaces and improved overall performance. Operated by the Royal Air Force and numerous international air arms, the Meteor F.8 became one of the most recognisable early jet fighters of the post war period.
This highly detailed 1/32 scale model kit recreates the Meteor F.8 with a wide range of build and display options. The kit includes a seated pilot figure with a choice of post war or 1950s era flight helmets, a detailed ejection seat with optional harness options and alternative canopy styles. Modellers can choose between early or late style ailerons, alternative engine cowlings and display the flaps and airbrakes open or closed. The kit also features two complete Rolls Royce Derwent jet engines with optional maintenance trolleys for display outside the aircraft, along with marking options for Royal Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force and Belgian Air Force aircraft.
