Meng 1/48 Aircraft - P-51D/K Mustang 8th Air Force - LS-010

The Meng 1/48 P-51D/K Mustang 8th Air Force (LS-010) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the North American P-51D or P-51K Mustang, the long range Second World War fighter, as flown by the US Eighth Air Force.

Merlin powered Mustangs escorted American bombers deep into Germany from 1944. The P-51K was a Dallas built version distinguished mainly by its Aeroproducts propeller. The P-51D introduced a bubble canopy for better all round vision and six .50 calibre machine guns. Eighth Air Force Mustangs wore some of the most colourful markings of the war, with bright nose bands and squadron codes, making them a favourite subject for modellers.
