Meng Figures - New Fourth Army Soldier - MOE-003

The Meng Fourth Army Soldier (MOE-003) is a 100mm tall, pre coloured snap fit cartoon figure kit of a soldier of China's New Fourth Army during the Second Sino Japanese War. Meng designed the figure with cartoonist Liu Naizhong.

Formed in 1937 from Communist guerrilla units left in southern China, the New Fourth Army operated mainly in the Yangtze river region against Japanese forces until 1945. The army grew rapidly from a few thousand men to well over two hundred thousand, and after 1945 its units became part of the People's Liberation Army.
