About this kit
The Meng 1/35 Leopard 1A5 German Main Battle Tank (TS-015) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the upgraded West German Leopard 1A5 from the late Cold War era.
The Leopard 1A5 programme gave existing tanks a new fire control system with thermal sights, housed in a prominent box on the turret, keeping the Leopard 1 competitive into the 1990s and beyond with several export users. The A5 standard was adopted by Germany and several other armies, and it kept the Leopard 1 in front line use long after newer tanks arrived. The prominent box on the turret makes the A5 easy to tell apart from earlier versions, and Meng's TS-007 kit covers the earlier Leopard 1A3 and 1A4.
