Meng 1/700 Ships - Chinese Type 055 Destroyer - PS-009

The Meng 1/700 Chinese Type 055 Destroyer (PS-009) is a plastic model kit of the People's Liberation Army Navy Type 055 (NATO name Renhai class) guided missile destroyer, China's largest modern surface combatant. Parts are moulded in different colours to make assembly easier.

The Type 055 displaces around 13,000 tonnes fully loaded and carries 112 vertical launch cells, leading many analysts to describe it as a cruiser. The lead ship, Nanchang (101), was commissioned in January 2020. Built at both the Jiangnan and Dalian shipyards, the class carries a 130mm main gun and a powerful integrated mast radar, and several ships now escort Chinese carrier groups.
