About this product
The Meng Chinese People's Volunteer Army Soldier (MOE-005) is a 100mm tall, pre coloured snap fit cartoon figure kit of a Chinese soldier from the Korean War (1950 to 1953). It is the third kit in Meng's soldier figure series, created with cartoonist Liu Naizhong.
Chinese volunteers crossed the Yalu river into Korea in October 1950 and fought United Nations forces in harsh winter conditions, including at the Chosin Reservoir, until the 1953 armistice. The volunteers were often lightly equipped, relying on infiltration and night attacks against better armed opponents, and their quilted winter uniforms became an enduring image of the war.
