About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/72 Westland Lynx Mk.90 (87240) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Westland Lynx Mk.90, the export naval helicopter operated by the Royal Danish Navy. A Portuguese Navy Super Lynx Mk.95 option is also on the decal sheet.
Developed by Westland and Aérospatiale, the Lynx became one of the most agile helicopters of its era. Danish machines flew from inspection ships patrolling the waters around Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Danish Lynx helicopters operated from small ships in some of the roughest seas in the world, carrying out fishery protection, search and rescue and sovereignty patrols. The Lynx also holds the speed record for a conventional helicopter, set in 1986. Portugal flies the related Super Lynx Mk.95 from its frigates.
