Hobby Boss 1/700 Ships - USS Jimmy Carter SSN-23 Attack Submarine - 87004

The Hobby Boss 1/700 USS SSN-23 Jimmy Carter Attack Submarine (87004) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of USS Jimmy Carter, the third and final US Navy Seawolf class nuclear attack submarine. The kit adds new parts to the Seawolf tooling to depict her lengthened hull.

Jimmy Carter was completed with an extra hull section of about 100 feet, the Multi Mission Platform, which supports special operations and research tasks. She was commissioned in 2005 and is named after the 39th President of the United States, a former submariner. Like her sisters, she was designed for deep water anti submarine warfare, but her extra hull section makes her the longest of the three boats by a clear margin.

Key Features

• New parts to represent the lengthened Multi Mission Platform hull
• Injection moulded plastic parts
• Small, fast build in 1/700 scale
• Contrasts neatly with the standard Seawolf kit (87003)

Paint and plastic glue are needed to complete the model and are sold separately.
