About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/350 USS Iowa BB-61 (86517) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of USS Iowa, the lead ship of the US Navy's Iowa class fast battleships commissioned in 1943. At 1/350 scale it builds into an impressive display piece.
Iowa carried President Roosevelt towards the Tehran Conference in 1943, fought in the Pacific and off Korea, and was modernised with missiles in the 1980s. Today she is a museum ship in Los Angeles. Her nine 16 inch guns and speed of over 30 knots made the Iowa class ideal escorts for fast carrier task forces, and the four ships of the class served the US Navy in several wars.
