About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/200 USS Hercules PHM-2 (82006) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of a US Navy Pegasus class patrol hydrofoil missile boat of the Cold War. It comes with photo etched parts, a display stand and a nameplate.
Able to rise on foils and skim the sea at over 40 knots, the six Pegasus class boats carried Harpoon missiles and a 76mm gun. Based at Key West, they also chased drug smugglers before retiring in 1993. The hydrofoils were among the fastest warships of their time and were designed to counter fast attack craft in confined waters. Their dramatic appearance, perched on their foils above the waves, makes them a striking display subject, and this kit is compact enough to fit on almost any shelf.
