About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/700 USS Greeneville SSN-772 (87016) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of USS Greeneville, an improved Los Angeles class nuclear powered attack submarine of the US Navy. It is a small kit that suits quick builds and fleet collections.
Commissioned in 1996, Greeneville belongs to the improved Los Angeles subgroup, which moved the diving planes from the sail to the bow and added vertical launch tubes for Tomahawk missiles. In 2001 she collided with the Japanese training vessel Ehime Maru off Hawaii. The improved boats also received upgraded sonar and quieting measures, and were made capable of operating under the Arctic ice, extending the class's useful life into the twenty first century.
