Hobby Boss 1/35 Military - Soviet SS-23 Spider Tactical Ballistic Missile - 85505

The Hobby Boss 1/35 Soviet SS-23 Spider Tactical Ballistic Missile (85505) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Soviet 9K714 Oka tactical ballistic missile system, NATO code name SS-23 Spider, with its eight wheeled launcher.

The missile travelled inside the amphibious launcher and was raised through the roof to fire. Its range brought it under the 1987 INF Treaty, and the Soviet Union destroyed its stock. The Oka had a range of around 400km, which was below the INF Treaty's lower limit, but the Soviet Union agreed to include it, a concession that caused controversy at the time. Missiles were also supplied to several Warsaw Pact countries. This large 1/35 model makes an imposing centrepiece for a Cold War missile collection.
