About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 Soviet MBV-2 (F-34 Gun) (85515) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the MBV-2, a Soviet Second World War self propelled armoured railcar armed with three turrets carrying 76.2mm F-34 guns.
Built at the Kirov Works in Leningrad in 1941, the MBV-2 used the same F-34 gun as the T-34 tank, and vehicles of this type helped defend Leningrad during the siege. The design reflected Soviet interest in armoured trains for defending vital railway lines, combining heavy firepower with the speed of a self propelled railcar rather than relying on a separate locomotive. Long, heavily armed and with its three turrets in a row, the MBV-2 is one of the most distinctive Soviet fighting vehicles of the war, and the finished model makes a commanding display piece.
