About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/35 GAZ-AAA with Quad Maxim AA Gun (84571) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Soviet GAZ-AAA 6x4 truck of the Second World War, armed with a quadruple Maxim machine gun mount for anti aircraft defence.
The GAZ-AAA was a three axle development of the Ford based GAZ-AA lorry. Fitted with the quad Maxim M4 mount, these trucks protected Red Army columns and airfields against low flying aircraft. Light, quick to build and easy to crew, the truck mounted quad Maxim became one of the most common Soviet air defence weapons of 1941 and 1942. Its four water cooled machine guns produced a dense stream of fire, and the open cargo bed gives plenty of scope for crew figures and ammunition stowage in a diorama.
