Hobby Boss 1/72 Military - Soviet 9P117M1 Launcher with R-17 Scud B - 82939

The Hobby Boss 1/72 Soviet 9P117M1 Launcher with R-17 Scud B (82939) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Soviet MAZ eight wheeled launcher and R-17 ballistic missile of the 9K72 Elbrus system. Markings cover Soviet or Russian and Iraqi vehicles.

Fielded from the 1960s and exported across the Warsaw Pact and the Middle East, the Scud gained notoriety in the Iran Iraq War and the 1991 Gulf War. The Scud's liquid fuelled missile was raised to the vertical on the vehicle's erector before launch, a process that took some time and made the launchers a priority target. Hunting mobile Scud launchers became a major task for coalition aircraft and special forces in 1991, giving this vehicle an enduring place in modern military history.
