About this kit
The Hobby Boss 1/700 PLAN Type 094 Jin Class SSBN (87024) is an injection moulded plastic model kit of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy Type 094 (Jin class) nuclear powered ballistic missile submarine. Construction takes just two steps.
The Type 094 entered service in the late 2000s carrying twelve JL-2 submarine launched ballistic missiles, giving China its first credible sea based nuclear deterrent. Its raised missile deck behind the sail is its most distinctive feature. At least six boats have been built, operating from Hainan island in the South China Sea. Their distinctive humped missile deck rises behind the sail, housing the launch tubes, and gives the class its unmistakable profile.
